  • Described as simple document management, I have to agree, once I figured out that you must build your documents in the correct order. Yes, I'm one of those who rush into things without fully reading the instructions. I use it on a small Joomla website and only for PDFs although the default allowed extensions are: pdf;doc;docx;txt;jpg;png;zip . First build the categories, then the Folders in which the documents are stored. At this point, be sure to go to the "DMS Categories" tab while in the Folders section- you must check the category you are assigning that folder to. Then go to the Documents manager to browse for and upload your document. The structure is very similar to what I see in the regular Joomla documents so it is easy to get around. Documentation is not bad but could use some expansion. It is better than most free Joomla extensions I run across. A feature I really like is that I can essentially forego using the regular Joomla documents for a specific webpage if I want. Okey Docs lets me post the material as a webpage and will automatically add a DOWNLOAD button so a user can download the same material in, say, PDF. It is not automatically added, of course - you still must create the PDF (or other file) and upload it. The location of the DOWNLOAD button on a webpage is my only complaint. Unless I am missing something in the settings (which are also very Joomla-like and instinctive) I can't get the button to appear at the top of the web page - it is at the bottom of the web page. That's OK for most documents but I have some that are several "screens" long that a user must scroll down to get to the download button.
